I had the pleasure of having Latonya help prepare me for my wedding day by adding hair extensions and styling my hair . She was wonderful. Her efforts to tend to my special request as to how I wanted my hair to look was replicated beautifully based on the photo  brought to her. When I returned last April, 2012, to settle down in Peoria again, I was very anxious about finding someone that could do my hair.  Having a capable, knowledgeable, dependable hairdresser is no easy feat.  In my opinion, finding someone who is familiar and comfortable with Black hair is even more difficult to find if you have not been raised in a new environment.  Coming from Los Angeles, I was leaving an area in which this was never an issue.  I felt that Phoenix would be difficult but not impossible but I had few friends that I could ask. After going on the internet and finding some possibilities I still had no one, at that time, that I could rely upon to supply me with possibilities.  So, I asked my daughter - who, at the time, did her own hair - to ask her then male friend who is now my son-in-law for some recommendations.  Voila. I called a number after hearing about a shop in Scottsdale and I found La Tonya!  I cannot tell you about how truly lucky I felt when I met her for the first time and explained what I was looking for.  She read my mind.  La Tonya is a gem!  Not only is she creative but she is punctual, warm, kind, knowledgeable, imaginative, reliable, and just a joy to talk to and be around.  La Tanya listens to you when explain what you want and is always polite, comfortable to talk to and is a mature, delightful woman who looks young enough to be a freshman in college!  She is a treasure with the right skills to be a top-notch hairdresser and business woman.  I have every confidence that her career is going to soar.  However, I don't want her to get too famous.  She is simply wonderful!  I am one lucky lady and I highly recommend her!

Working with Latonya Adkins has changed my life in a lot of ways. I have always had low confidence in myself. I didn't think I was very pretty and wasn't confident in myself. When I started modeling I grew to love myself more and more. I became more confident in myself because I had to in order to model Latonya's designs.  If I didn't have confidence in myself then I couldn't get on the runway and work different outfits. I am now very confident in myself and I'm not shy anymore. If you ask me to get on the runway and work a certain outfit I will beat you to the stage because I get very excited to be on the runway now. Another thing modeling with Mrs. Adkins helped me with, was maturing. Being the youngest of all the other models there were alot of times that my age showed, and that could not happen. I had to mature so that I didn't stand out in a bad way and make Mrs. Adkins look bad. Now, I feel that I have matured a lot and it's all thanks to working with Latonya Adkins. Over all, becoming a model for Mrs. Adkins was the best thing that could ever happen to me, and I dont know where I would be without her.
